QUICK FACTS
AGE GROUPS: Age groups vary between each series offered. Check the current show flyer for details.
AWARDS: Daily high points and placings 1 through 6 are awarded at most events. Check individual show series flyers for details. Year end awards are based on overall performance for the calendar year and are series specific. Points are accumulated on the exhibitor unless noted. An exhibitor must be a member before entering for day of show points to count to year end BOARD OF DIRECTORS: Northern Colorado Riding Club is managed by the 2006 Charter Members who are also the board of directors. BREED APPROVAL: All shows are approved by the RMQHA Outreach Program, Paint Alternative Competition Program (PAC), Arabian Incentive Points (OEIP), and Appaloosa Competitive All-breeds Activities Program (ACAAP).
CANCELLATION DUE TO WEATHER: If in doubt, call a board member prior to driving in to the show. As a rule, most shows are held as scheduled except in the case of extreme weather conditions which may compromise the safety of our exhibitors. We will make every attempt to notify people of cancellations through local radio station announcements and telephone calls when possible.
CLASSES: Class offerings vary based on the series. Please refer to current show flyers for the listings. Note that some classes do not count toward high point awards.
CLASS ENTRY FEES: Unless noted, class entry fees are $5 per class per member or $7 per class per non-member. There is an office fee of $5 per person per show. Warm up trail is $5 per go with no limit on the number of entries. Jackpot Classes are $15 ($10 payback, $5 office). There are no refunds. Special events including clinics, may have other fees and will be noted on the show flyer.
CONCESSIONS: Full concessions are available at all events.

EXHIBITOR ENTRY NUMBERS: Entry numbers are assigned to the HORSE. Permanent numbers are assigned to each horse and more than one horse may be exhibited. Members may request and/or maintain a permanent number from year to year. Numbers are randomly assigned unless requested. Exhibitors are asked, when possible, to attach entry numbers to each side of the saddle pad. LOCATION: Shows are held at the Greeley Saddle Club Arena 899 North 11th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado. Special events may be hosted at other venues and those locations will be identified in club publicity, the newsletter, and on the web page.
MANAGEMENT: NCRC is managed by the board of directors. The board reserves the right to change show schedules based on weather or other conditions.
MEMBERSHIP: Membership is not required to participant in any sponsored event. Membership IS required to qualify for year end awards. Annual memberships cost $15 per single and $25 per group/family. Memberships paid from September through December of a calendar year carryover through the next calendar year.
NEWSLETTER: A regular newsletter is distributed by e-mail and regular mail depending upon preferences of each member at the time of membership renewal. Classified advertisements, feature stories, and photos are welcomed. Contact the current newsletter editor for deadlines and details.

QUEEN FOR THE DAY: A queen for the day is chosen at each of the Performance and Gymkhana/Jackpot shows. All queens are recognized at year end awards.
RULES OF THE CLUB: Current “American Quarter Horse Association” rules apply unless noted. NCRC rules prevail if there is a conflict with the AQHA rules. Events not included in the AQHA rules are covered by NCRC rules. Please refer to the NCRC Bylaws and Rules for specifics.
SHOW RECORDS: All show results are computer tabulated. Results are maintained through the current season for each show and each series. When possible, year to date results are posted in the show office. Individual exhibitor and/or horse records may be requested from the show office.
SPONSORS: There are three levels of annual sponsorship: Settler – any donation or gift up to $99; Rancher – donations or gifts valued at $100-$299; Land Baron – donations or gifts valued at over $300. Each level of sponsorship receives special recognition and perks. Please review the documents included in your member packet, or contact a board member. The Northern Colorado Riding Club is a non-profit organization supported by membership fees, sponsors and gifts in kind.
STAFFING: Shows are staffed by paid, well qualified judges, , show secretary, computer data entry, and an announcer. Ring stewards, entry/exit gate keepers, and arena crews are staffed by volunteers. The board of directors provides overall management.
VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers are the heart and soul of our club. We always need help, before, during, and after each show. Receive ride coupons worth $5 for every 2 hours worked. If you are interested in helping in any way, please contact a board member.
WARM UP ARENA: A warm up arena is available at all shows. Exhibitors are asked to lunge horses early and prior to the arena filling with mounted riders. |
